About Me

My love for bicycles began at an early age.

It all started when I was 8 years old. My family and I stopped at a garage sale at an old farm in Wisconsin. There it was-an old JC Higgins tank bike covered with "barn red" paint and a few spider webs. I promised my parents I would clean it up and ride it. It was a little too big for me but I grew into it. I rode that bike up and down the street in my neighborhood for many summers. I loved antiques as a kid. I guess it's because I felt they had a history and were more interesting than toys or video games. My JC Higgins bike was truly an antique and could be ridden! So much more fun than the old tube radios and record players I had collected so far. I fell in love with classic old bikes and Schwinns became my favorite. My dad and Uncle began teaching me how to fix my bikes as I collected them. I could polish, tinker with them and bring them back to life. They were easy to find and easy for me to learn how to repair. I still enjoy finding bikes and repairing them. I love to see how an old forgotten bike can be brought back to life and be given a new home. I hope that one of my bikes will find a new home with you.
